Description
To hang a picture with wire and two hooks, you can follow these steps:
Find the right spot: Choose a location on the wall where you want to hang the picture.
- Nail the hangers: Hammer two wall hangers into the wall at the same height, about 1/3 to 1/2 of the picture’s width apart.
- Attach the wire: Stretch picture wire between the two hooks, allowing for some give. The ends of the wire should extend a few inches past the hooks for height adjustment.
- Secure the wire: Twist and knot the wire around itself for added security.
- Add bumpers: Glue cork or rubber bumpers to the back corners of the frame to protect your walls and allow for air circulation.
Here are some other tips for hanging pictures:
- Use metal loops for heavy works, or screw eyes for smaller works.
- Hang the picture so that the middle is about 60–65 inches from the floor.
- Make sure the walls are sturdy enough to support the weight of the picture.
- Use a level to make sure the picture is evenly leveled.
- Mark where you want the top of the frame to be on the wall, and then measure the distance from the top of the frame to the top of the wire.
- Position the hanger so that the bottom of the hook is on the mark.
